Happy Spring!

I answered my door to this sweet guy and daffodils! He picked them all by himself and was so proud! I love them!
Patrick and a friend have been working on our site and trying to get it up and running with our new products (Aromatherapy Roll ons) and our candles. It has been taking a tad longer than we thought it would. I have officially decided the computer side is not as fun as the product side!
Last night when cutting soap my youngest came over and was sniffing at the table. It was so cute! I love cutting day! Makes my shelves full and pretty. I am running out of shelving and space. Hoping to finish the Soap Room soon. It is a bigger room and we are making it just for Simply Cleansing so it has lots of room for our barrels of oils and products.
We are still working on getting new soaps made and ready to go! Having fun deciding on kinds!
It has been fun seeing the changes and growing we are doing as a company. Never would have thought I'd be here, when I started making soap in my parents kitchen as a teen. So thankful to be here though!

Simply Vitality,

We use a blend of Peppermint, Spearmint, Eucalyptus, Wintergreen, Orange, and Grapefruit essential oils in this Roll on. Really great scent!
These oils have been traditionally used for supporting cases of arthritis and other joint/muscular aches and pains.depression, oily skin, cellulite and stretch marks ,asthma, bug bites, bee stings, helps motion sickness or nausea, congestion, cramping, upset tummy etc.

Our roll ons are in 1/3 ounce glass bottles. We use Grapeseed and sweet almond oils as the carrier oils. They can be put topically on your wrists, temples, forehead, base of head/neck or any tired muscles. They smell great and are in a convenient container!

Simply Relaxing,

We use a mix of Lavender, Tangerine, Rose and Orange Oil in this Roll on. So lovely! I use this one to help my youngest rest and sleep better. He doesn't sleep well away from home generally.

These oils are said to be great for rest, bruises, and skin irritations, wrinkles, preventing scarring, helps with occasional nervous irritability, antibacterial, astringent, antiseptic and antiviral properties, soothe the nerves, calm the nervous system and act as a tonic to relieve symptoms of depression. Just the aroma of rose oil can provide alleviation from depressive symptoms.

Our Roll-ons are made with Grapeseed and sweet almond oils as the base. Essential oils are generally too strong to apply without being in a carrier oil. We bottle them in 1/3 ounce glass roll on bottles.

Busy

We are really busy here right now. Several things going at once.
We are working on new products. You'll see in a blog post tomorrow.  Today I am working on labels for them.
We just got over 200 chicks in last week. Layers and meat birds. Really excited! They are sweet!
Our school year is drawing to a close. For which I am thankful. Gardening will soon be here and we need more time to do it.
Making lots of soap this week. 15 batches is our minimum goal. We are 1/3 there. Yeah!  New bars coming soon! In March we are bringing back a bar we used to sell. Excited to get it back in here!
Also working on the website. We are trying to get it set up so we have the ability to add product as needed. That should be up here soon! Really liked the look of our last one. Wish we could have left it. But we need it to be functional on our end without asking for help. The look is growing on me. ;)

Tracing...

When making soap you mix your Lye and oils and stir til you get a 'Trace' or 'Trailing'. Here we have a trace. You can see it is thick. You want it as thick as pudding. When you lift the spoon and let the drips fall they should remain on top of the soap mixture. If they do not keep stirring.
At this point when you are at a trace you can add in your scents (we use essential oils) and herbs or other additives. Then pour into your molds.
When you get a trace, you have started the chemical reaction called Saponification. After the soap is in the mold for 24 hrs it is ready to remove. (Use gloves, it is still caustic) When 3 days have past it is no longer caustic and can be handled.  It is then best to let it continue to dry for 3 weeks. The dryer the soap the longer it will last.
We also use a soap dish that drains well.It helps to extend the life of the soap. We enjoy making soap and love to answer questions and inspire you to try it. If you'd rather not, you know where you can buy! ;)
